Job Description

Allied Bakeries is one of three divisions of Allied Milling and Baking, which in turn is a part of Associated British Foods (ABF) plc, a major international business with a turnover of £12.9bn and close to 118,000 employees working in 47 countries. The Role

  • Support the Customer Managers, Customer Director and the Customer themselves in delivering activities to achieve revenue and profit targets
  • Drive own development in the skills of account management through hands on experience and coaching from colleagues to progress through the business

Key Accountabilities

  • Support activity on the account (including but not limited to administration, samples, co-ordination of events, preparation of presentations, project management, etc)
  • Maintain quality relationships at a Buying Assistant level within the customer
  • Co-ordinate communication both internally and externally on account activity
  • Co-ordinate the execution of customer plans as created by Customer Managers
  • Anticipate problems/opportunities in account to enable Allied to lead the market place pro-actively as opposed to being reactive to events
  • Manage and track the accounts trade investment (promotions, invoicing, accruals, claims, etc)
  • Track and report account performance
  • Provide analysis, insight and reporting from one of the customers systems
  • Interact and develop cross functional relationships within Allied, key interactions include Shopper & Consumer Marketing, Category, Field Sales, Technical, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Finance

Experience and qualifications

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Previous experience in FMCG
  • Excellent analytical ability with strong verbal and numerical skills
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels
  • Tenacious
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Good attention to detail and ability to prioritise multiple tasks
  • Fully conversant with Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • A full UK driving license is required
