Job Description

The purpose of the role is to analyse M&S data in order to identify & develop solutions to retailer based issues and drive opportunities for Bakkavor & M&S. The post holder will identify mutually beneficial opportunities to drive sales, waste, and promotional efficiency. To be an integral part of the Customer Buying Team and be seen by M&S as the analytical and category expert & the go to supplier VMI of choice.

The accountabilities for the role are:

Sales Management – weekly analysis and interpretation of Customer KPIs, & generation of recommendations to improve performance (sales, ros, wastage, format, NPD) - asking ‘so what’.

Communication – Possess great interpersonal skills to build relationships with key contacts within M&S. Must have the ability to present results and recommendations clearly & concisely. Must have the ability to turn numbers into actionable insight.

Performance Analysis – provide monthly analysis & insight which monitors impact of launches, distribution changes, weather, and other influences, and present recommendations as to how performance can be improve.

Project Work – undertakes medium-term project work as directed by Line Manager. This could include; range optimisation, Waste Management, SODA/CODA, Logistic initiatives, Value Optimisation, Shape of Chain etc. Be able to think creatively around problems. Be able to manage both short and long term project work, with multiple timeframes & add value to both Bakkavor & M&S commercial agenda.

Category Management – analysis of M&S consumer based systems CIU and make recommendations for key categories of Italian, Gastro and Health.

Relationship Management – permanently situated within our Customer’s Head Office in London, you will be the representative of Bakkavor. Building strong relationships with FIP, FIM and Buyers is key .

Retail Store Contact – build relationships within a select number of key retail stores, to understand end-to-end retail challenges, source feedback from stores and recommend performance improvements.

Qualification Requirements Understanding of the retail industry (Desirable: Business related degree).

Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle.
Skills Excellent analytical skills (Desirable: experience in an analyst role). Excellent Excel capabilities. Be able to translate data from a variety of sources and turn into insight into action.

Affability – seen as a “face of Bakkavor” in M&S, be able to focus on the 'end objectives' of a task and getting things done through ‘taking people with you’.

Attention to detail.

Excellent communication & team working skills.

Adaptability - being able to switch on different skill sets when in M&S and when in Bakkavor. Being willing to change ways of working quickly when in M&S vs. when in Bakkavor.
