QA Technician – Manchester – CRTB894865

Our client is a fantastic Food manufacturing business based in Manchester. They are looking for a QA Technician to join their team. The main purpose is to ensure the quality and safety of products and processes through the application of the Quality Systems and activities to meet the Technical and site objectives.

Role Accountabilities

  • Complete Line quality control and quality assurance checks, including weight checks, machine verification, organoleptic tests, packaging checks (especially drum seam checks involving microscopic measurements), coding checks, calibration and verification, lab equipment maintenance, data analysis and reporting.
  • Complete record keeping, filing, and ensure document control
  • Assist Quality Coordinator with technical issue resolution and continuous development of food safety and quality
  • Participate in projects as required
  • Complete site internal audits (CCP, GMP, Hygiene etc.)
  • Collect and coordination of samples for routine micro / analytical analysis
  • Actively reinforce company good manufacturing practices and hygiene policies by advising staff on good practices when necessary and reporting non-conformances to Supervisors/Managers and investigation of NC’s
  • Attend and contribute to technical team meetings for the development of food safety systems.
  • Cross train to cover for Quality Controller and deputies for quality and hygiene coordinator
  • Assist with Training
  • Maintain a close working relationship with team leaders, Production staffs and other relevant departments to successfully drive quality and safety forward.
  • Required experience and skills

    · Ideally Degree in science / food science.

    · Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, Weights legislation, QMS

    · At least 2 years Line QC in a food manufacturing company, Computer literate, Problem-solving skills, auditing skills

    The salary on offer is £21,000 to £27,000 working shifts ranging from 6-2/2-10 to 12 hour days during busy periods.
