Bakkavor Desserts Newark is looking to recruit a QA Manager to lead and motivate the QA team in monitoring and evaluating raw material, product and processing systems in-conjunction with factory practices to ensure agreed standards of quality and food safety are achieved and improved upon. Also participate in generating and building a quality culture at Bakkavor Desserts working closely with all disciplines.

The accountabilities for the role are:

Minimum Standards - Understand and apply relevant standards and codes of practice so that Customer, Bakkavör and Legal requirements are achieved and maintained. Influences Operations in meeting GMP standards and product quality within the factory and in meeting specifications and expectations of retailers.

2 HACCP System - To ensure that the site CCPs are fully implemented, understood and maintained in factory areas covered by the role. Actively takes part in HACCP reviews and ensures all changes to process, equipment or product in the area are fully communicated and understood. Involvement in the evaluation of risks prior to the introduction of and establishment of controls of a new process, product or raw material.

3 Quality Management Systems - Understands, implements and participates in reviews of quality management systems associated with the production of food to the agreed safety and quality standards. Provides practical support and drive to promote a Quality Assurance culture.

4 Internal audit – Ensures all assigned audits are completed and reviewed. Ensures that all identified actions are completed on time to ensure critical procedures for product safety, legality and quality are safeguarded. In addition review all internal findings, identify trends and implement appropriate preventative measures.

5 Effective Communication - Manage effective communications with internal and external customers, suppliers and production teams to ensure all the Technical needs of the business are met

6 Technical Training - Understands and identifies technically related training requirements at all levels in the business (e.g. HACCP, food hygiene etc.) To ensure that all employees are properly equipped to undertake their roles.

7 People - Manage and organise the allocation of workload within the QA / Traceability team.
Recruit and retain the right calibre of people. Lead, motivate and inspire the Quality team in line with Bakkavör Values to achieve personal development, continuous improvement and ensuring there is a safe working environment.

8 KPIs - Reviews technical business KPI information and effectively communicates and reviews trends and highlight issues. Uses root cause analysis and develops and agrees action plans to drive improvement.
