An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Production Manager to join our Cavaghan & Gray site in Carlisle. The business was formed in 1912 and was known as Cavaghan, Collin & Gray. They were originally farmers and meat processors. In 1962, C&G commenced supply to M&S. By the early 1970s, the company launched three of the first-ever prepared ready meal products including cauliflower cheese, cottage pie and Cumberland pie. In 2012, C&G celebrated its 100 year anniversary and 50 year anniversary of supplying to M&S

Production Manager Responsibilities:

Lead the production shift team so they are engaged, productive and have a clear focus on problem solving, team work and working to standards. Build trust through effective leadership and skill application of people management processes (investigations, attendance, recruitment, safety, performance) and open 2 way communication through daily, weekly, monthly and 1:1’s
Other responsibilities:

Drive the Health & Safety agenda for the dept. ensuring a safe working environment for all employees
Organise & Optimise Labour
Manage process reliability
Analyse and report conversation performance metrics
Manage Quality
Project design and delivery
Manage Health and Safety
Manage Maintenance
Understanding of Production Financial Reporting

Knowledge / Skills / Qualifications: (Desirable but not essential)

MS office – can operate and use word, excel and PowerPoint Food Safety Level 2
IOSH Managing Safely
Experience in application in Lean tools
Continuous Improvement tools and techniques – 5S, Problem solving, VSM
Numerical Ability to record, analyse and interpret data#
Technical – HACCP/GMP
Experience of leading a team in a FMCG organisation
Able to lead and inspire others to achieve challenging results
The ability to identify and actively plan improvements
Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to be successful in a changing environment
Leadership: Thoughtful leader who lives the core values of 2SFG/ Carlisle Site
Effective communicator who facilitates bottom up and top down communications
