About the Role:
The Operations Manage role will form part of the Operations Management team on site, and is a key role reporting into the Site General Manager. Their main responsibility will be to effectively manage the day-to-day Factory operations & ensure all manufacturing performance KPIs are achieved in line with Company procedures. On a day to day basis the Operations Manager will be expected to deal with the fulfilment of customer orders & individual line performance whilst providing management expertise to 4 Production Manager, as well as:
- Providing direction and support to the Production Managers, managing and facilitating their performance and development and ensuring departmental structure and skills are developed to meet changing requirements
- Having responsibility for all aspects of food safety and quality in the department ensuring QMS is implemented and effective audit procedures are established with the correct level of training given
- Deriving an advance labour plan for the department and review on a weekly basis
- Controlling labour and materials at cost level and account for any anomalies
- Delivering customer service levels at agreed target levels and continuously identify areas for improvement.
- Identifying changes in process/method that will lead to productivity improvement
- Developing communication between and within shifts and departments
About You:
Ideal candidates will have experience of a production facility with up to 300 indirect reports. They will also have experience of working within food manufacturing at First Line Manager level or above, as well as:
- The ability to drive results in a fast paced environment
- Knowledge and experience of driving improvement within area / department
- Ability to coach and mentor people who manage people
- Strong leader who leads by example
- Excellent communication/engagement skills at all levels of the business
- Financial / commercial awareness
- The ability to prioritise and work effectively under pressure
