International Category Manager
Based in St Albans

As Category Manager for our growing International division you will be focussed on supporting and developing category-centric expertise internally with Sales, Marketing & Innovation teams, and externally with key International Customers.

The ultimate aim is to find ways of encouraging growth of each Category Premier operates in, and ensuring that growth benefits the Retailer and Premier Foods, whilst putting the Shopper & Consumer at the heart of our focus.

Key roles and responsibilities…..
  • Provision of data, insights & expertise to help International SBU strategy formulation, new market entry, or deepening of market penetration
  • Monthly / regular provision of insights & KPI tracking from Nielsen, IRI and chosen sources to support business cycles, Exec meetings, Sales support and overall information flow
  • Relationship development with selected Irish customers (to be confirmed at a later date) to provide category partnership support as part of our wider business relationship, or, to support Premier Foods initiatives (eg NPD, range extension, mix initiatives around portfolio management, promotions & price optimisation, merchandising, new channel development)
  • Provision of periodic category, shopper & market insights as regular service-provision or for key range-review cycles
  • Tactical category analysis / support for Premier’s seeding markets, as required
  • Development of range, space, merchandising expertise for key markets to support Premier Foods trade engagement, initiative sell-in, or Sales & Marketing expertise
  • Analysis of Channel & Market specifics, and/or Mix dynamics – such as price & promotions category/brand performance
  • Periodic review of key activities across shopper marketing execution, to measure category benefit or ROI
  • Support in strategic / category vision work (eg category sell-in principles for Kipling entry into US, post market-research/investigation)

Experience and qualifications needed……
  • 2+ years experience in either Shopper Marketing/Consumer Insights/Category Management
  • Strength in developing internal, agency and customer relationships
  • High numeracy with strong analytical skills, expertise in excel, powerpoint and ability to use Nielsen/IRI software & databases
  • Highly energetic and self-motivated
  • Impactful and self-aware communicator
