Job Description
We are recruiting a customer facing Category Manager to bring our category, brand and sales plans alive within retail customers. You will be responsible for ensuring that the category team deliver commercial value to Allied Bakeries measured by net sales. You will assist the development and delivery of Category visions and ensure alignment and delivery across the Category vision/brand strategy and sales strategy.
Key Accountabilities:
•Ensure the delivery of net sales and gross contribution targets
•Develop and implement Category visions within our retail customers and thus securing Category captaincy/leadership
•Be the category on-point contact for the customers & deliver actionable insights and category growth opportunities
•Develop strong business relationships with the retail customers
•Provide expertise and category leadership to the retail customer
•Ensure value creation and profit contribution by identifying: distribution gaps, mix management/core ranging, new listings based on Category rationale, availability opportunities and best practice for promotions
Skills, qualifications and experience:
•Educated to degree level or equivalent
•Experience in the FMCG sector is essential, preferably within the food industryExperience in the use of Nielsen/TNS/IRI data warehouses
•Skilled in the use of associated category sources and track record of positive relationships with agencies
•Excellent listening skills, strong interpersonal and empathy skills and a strong track record in dealing with external customers is desirable
•Strong experience in project management is required
•Experience of presenting to varied audiences and positive history with leading retailers is required
•High levels of numeracy and analytical skills are desirable
