Payroll SpecialistBased within PBS, Manchester
Premier Business Services (PBS) delivers finance services to the whole Premier Foods business. It is made up of the following teams: Transaction Services, Record to Report and Payroll, Fleet and Expenses. Based in Manchester PBS is located in Arndale House, right in the heart of the city. They are looking for a Payroll Specialist and the main purpose of the role will be:
- Processing weekly and monthly payrolls to ensure accurate and timely payment of 4000 Premier Foods colleagues
- Regular supervision of day to day team operational activities
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Operational Management
- Perform payroll processing on a weekly and monthly basis
- Ensure compliance to controls
- Support the Payroll Team Manager with planning resources for key activities
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation, and ensure this is shared with the wider team as appropriate
- Manage internal and external stakeholders and act as an escalation route where required
- Support the development of individuals within the team
- Pro-actively contribute to continuous improvement of processes, engaging with the Process Improvement Manager where required
- Awareness of the Payroll Team Objectives
- Awareness of Payroll’s KPI’s
Experience and Competencies
- Experience of working with a variety of weekly and monthly payrolls
- CIPP qualified (or working towards)
- Highly organised and able to prioritise work appropriately
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills – with the wider team, internal and external stakeholders
