Sheffield is home to some of the UK’s most iconic sweets brands: Maynards, Trebor and Bassett’s. It’s the largest sugar confectionery plant in the Mondelēz International network across Europe and produces approx 40,000 tonnes of sweets each year.
The Liquorice Maintenance Lead is a key Leadership position within a section structure at Sheffield with overall responsibility for the engineering agenda within that area. The role is accountable for the Maintenance and Asset Effectiveness of Sheffield Manufacturing, through the deployment of maintenance teams in pursuit of the Maintenance Excellence Strategy. A key focus is to ensure the availability of equipment and working practices to ensure delivery within the framework.
Reporting into the Section Manager, you will lead and develop the engineering excellence program in line with best practice methodology and principles. Within the section the role is responsible for the delivery of a sustainable engineering program through the development of the team, processes, ways of working and the consistent application of improvement to these areas.
Sheffield has significant operational scale which encompasses three manufacturing sections. The role forms part of an individual section's unit leadership team and offers technical leadership and strategic direction for the planner, technicians and industrial placements within the business unit.
The role plays a major part for the Sheffield Operation in the delivery of ‘Best Today’ performance and ‘Best for the Future’ opportunities as the site progresses through its transformation. The transformation is underpinned by our Integrated Lean Six Sigma journey, and it is expected that the role holder will deliver positive results through the adoption and effective utilisation of TPM, Lean and best practice manufacturing approaches. You will be required to lead, coach and empower your direct and indirect team and help develop Sheffield into a High Performing Organisation.
You will be instrumental in supporting the Section Manager in developing the capability of individuals, teams and processes as the site transitions through its phases of growth, adoption and implementation of New Ways of Working (IL6S, HPWS) which will provide solid foundations on the IL6's journey through the development of a strong process, people and continuous improvement heartbeat throughout the line and section.
