Job Description
To manage the engineering craft team and resources to provide maximum availability of all production plant and support equipment. To ensure that the engineering shift is effective, motivated, flexible and within budget. To implement initiatives to drive out cost and further reduce downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
•Plan the daily workload and manage the craft team to make best use of available resources and minimise plant downtime.
•To monitor progress of plant performance and implement downtime reduction activities.
•Continually develop and ensure that the planned maintenance procedures are correctly adhered to and completion targets are attained.
•Ensure all engineering work is carried out in an efficient and effective manner, in accordance with best manufacturing practice, health and safety legislation and company standards.
•To deliver the R & M budget.
•Control and monitor manning levels to ensure production demands are effectively covered.
•Provide technical expertise and engineering knowledge in resolving engineering problems.
•To coach, review and develop the team to achieve operational and personal targets.
•To provide appropriate support to the Projects team.
•To provide appropriate support to the operational function in relation to all aspects of shared maintenance.
• Positively influence the change management process, driving engineering culture to world class performance.
Skills & Qualifications
Extensive management experience gained working within a manufacturing environment preferably
FMCG
• Engineering HND
• Time served apprenticeship
• Specific understanding of the requirements of Health and Safety Regulations/Legislation directly relating to engineering
• Experience of working with new technologies is desirable
• Strong influencing and communication skills
