From our main depot at Cross Hands, and four satellite depots at Avonmouth, Blaenau Ffestiniog, Chirk and Merthyr Tydfil, we service the length and breadth of Wales, the Welsh borders and the West Country. Our Cash and Carry in Carmarthen offers our full product range, as well as an extensive selection of beers, wines and spirits.
We’re proud of our rural roots, which is why supplying and promoting regional produce is one of our core values. We believe in secure, sustainable and fair supply chains. Welsh meat, dairy produce, beverages and gourmet foods are an integral part of our extensive selection of products. In addition to the established favourites we can offer, our customers are also able choose new, innovative lines from the UK and beyond. But if they can’t find what they’re looking for, we’re more than happy to source products on customer request.
The Celtic Pride Premium Beef Partnership, our flagship supply chain initiative, celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2013. Since its inception, producer membership has grown to exceed 80 farmers who follow strict husbandry and management protocols. We now also stock Celtic Pride Pork. Our new 34,000 square feet purpose built butchery is 3 times the size of the former production unit and, at a cost of £4 million, meets all foodservice requirements.
To develop sales to both public and private sector we have invested in our quality systems, attaining certification in the following International standards – BRC Global Standard for Food Safety – Issue 6 (A Grade for all production sites), BRC Global Standard for Storage and Distribution, ISO 9001:2008; ISO 14001:2004, and OHSAS 18001:2007. We are also audited independently against PGI traceability requirements.
We recognise our commitment to the environment, with involvement in a number of initiatives. In 2012 we were one of the first companies in Wales to sign to the WRAP Hospitality and Foodservice commitment to reduce food and packaging waste. You can find out more on our Environment Page.
